Trainer Tips: Keeping your cool in the heat

FaceGym Trainer Andrea shares her tips to stay cool and her pick of workouts to keep skin refreshed and hydrated this summer.

During this summer’s heatwave we can’t get enough of the Cryo Oxygen Workout. Using a cool lifting gun to spray the facial tissue with CO2 and atomised actives at a very low temperature and high pressure, it will leave you feeling refreshed and cool. We then follow this with our deep signature massage which sculpts and tones the muscle, followed by our gold derma roller to stimulate collagen and blood circulation – this also pushes the hyaluronic acid into the skin. We end this lovely workout with the Gua Sha stone – this is used for lymphatic drainage. The stone is kept icey cold in the fridge, giving you a cooling and soothing feeling on your skin. Heaven!

Here’s the science bit…

Cryo-Carboxytherapy – the CO2 flow, which is at a very low temperature and at a high pressure, activates the blood micro-circulation it induces collagen and elastine formation and increases the tissues oxygenating. Thermal shock stimulates the underlying tissue, which is normally at a temperature of around 36 degrees. The cool lifting treatment generates an immediate lifting effect, smoothing the skin, eliminating superficial wrinkles and reducing deep wrinkles, followed by a lasting rejuvenating effect. For lasting results regular shots are recommended – you can add a Cryo Shot to any other FaceGym workout!

Replenish Natural Hyaluronic Levels – as the serum molecules diffuse through the epidermis, they swell and replenish the natural hyaluronic levels already existing within the skin. As we age, the natural production of hyaluronic acid slows down causing the skin to become dryer and form lines and wrinkles. Also the production of collagen and elastin is similarly stimulated during the workout, to help the skin become more supple and smooth.

Gua Sha Stone –  used for thousands of years by the elite women of ancient Chinese dynasties, this precious jade tool is traditionally used on the face to reduce signs of ageing. Made from the highest grade, pure jade crystal (which was valued more highly than gold in ancient China) this amazing tool hugs the curves of your  face and neck to increase blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, refining and smoothing your skin, as well as stimulating a variety of acupressure points. (Keep your Gua Sha in the fridge for a cooling experience – you can pick one up in our shop.)
